Tim Cook, Department for Energy Security and Net Zero

Tim is the co-head of the Built Innovation team in the Science and Innovation for Climate and Energy Directorate (SICE) within the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy. The Built Innovation team delivers programmes to accelerate the commercialisation of low-carbon technologies and to support decarbonising our homes and buildings. Tim is responsible for key innovation programmes including Whole House Retrofit, Electrification of Heat, Heat Pump Ready, and the Green Home Finance Accelerator. Tim joined the Built Innovation team from his role as deputy head at the Government’s Office for Artificial Intelligence, before which Tim held a variety of innovation, science and technology roles across a range of Government Departments.
