Richard Smith, Head of Sustainability, Doncaster Council
Richard is the strategic lead on achieving the city’s net zero ambitions of 85% reduction in C02 by 2030, working across domestic and non-domestic retrofit, renewable energy, zero emissions transport, developing Doncaster’s green economy; and restoration and protection of the natural environment.
Working with public and private sector partners, landscape scale change is planned for Doncaster; from the largest renewable energy storage facility and solar generation in the UK, to increased tree canopy from 1 million new trees; Doncaster Council seeks a balance between growth and sustainability.
Richard leads a new service dedicated to delivering the Council’s ambitions.
