Peter Laidler, Director, Structure Workshop
Peter founded Structure Workshop in 2004 and has more than 25 years’ experience in the design of building structures. During this time, he has worked with many award-winning Architects and internationally recognised artists, realising a series of innovative and design-led projects.
At Structure Workshop Peter leads a team of engineers with an engaged, and technically creative approach to design. Their projects range from historic structures through to contemporary architecture and public art. A low carbon approach lies at the heart of this work, alongside a love of materials and its considered application to building structures.
Recent projects that Peter has led include The Fratry at Carlisle Cathedral which received a RIBA National award in 2022, and Homerton College Dining Hall in Cambridge which won both Structures and overall Gold at The Wood Awards 2022.
