Lucy is the Technical Officer of MCS (the Microgeneration Certification Scheme), a standards organisation that plays a central role in the UK’s adoption of renewable energy sources for our homes and small businesses.
Her passion for the environment is reflected by her master’s degree in Environmental Engineering which she studied alongside her work at MCS. Lucy enjoys presenting at events to help educate and support people on their journey within the renewables sector.
Lucy’s technical background working with hydraulic vessels has now been shifted to focus on microgeneration technologies to support the quality, performance and safety of these products and systems. A key part of Lucy’s role involved authoring and developing technical standards, which she does with aid of MCS’s technology-specific working groups.
She is currently leading several projects, including updating the MCS product standards and developing the minimum technical competency requirements for the design and installation of microgeneration technologies. One of her other core focusses is promoting renewables in the speculative new-build sector.
