Jannik Giesekam, University of Strathclyde

Dr Jannik Giesekam is a Chancellor’s Fellow in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Strathclyde. His research and consultancy focusses on climate change mitigation in industrial supply chains, with a particular emphasis on the UK construction industry. This includes over a decade of work on the policy and practices required to deliver net zero carbon buildings and infrastructure. Jannik has undertaken work for 7 government departments and participated in a wide range of working and expert advisory groups for organisations such as the Institution of Civil Engineers, the UK Green Building Council and the Science Based Targets Initiative. He has also acted as an expert reviewer for organisations such as Chatham House, the Climate Change Committee and the Institution of Structural Engineers. Jannik is a co-author of the Part Z proposals and a member of the UK Net Zero Carbon Buildings Standard Task Group 1c.
