Angelos Patsidis, SMPnet
Mr Angelos Patsidis is the Head of Power Systems at SMPnet. His main expertise is focused on optimisation, control and protection of energy systems, both in the transmission and distribution level. A significant part of his professional activities comprises the development of optimisation techniques, including optimal power flow and optimal renewable generation management, in relation to power systems design and operation. His research has been always driven by the aim of a solely renewable generation-based electricity power system. In his career, Angelos has collaborated broadly with network operators both nationally and internationally, therefore he knows well the challenges these organisation face in their energy transition journeys. Angelos holds MSc and MEng degrees, while he is currently finalising his PhD degree at the University of Strathclyde.
