Andy Maddox, Strategic and Service Lead Leisure Services, Doncaster Council
Andy is strategic lead for Get Doncaster Moving, City of Doncaster Councils approach to supporting the population to become Physically Active. Their work has focused on Placed Based Whole Systems approach supporting the population to access opportunities to be physically active.
Working closely with colleagues across the council and Doncaster Culture and Leisure Trust. Andy has undertaken client responsibility for £18.5m capital investment programme across 5 leisure facilities.
Through this work, the team has been able to access funding to decarbonise and refurbish Askern Leisure Centre, previously a coal fired leisure centre to modernise systems by use of air source heat pump and other environmental improvements.
