Alex Hobley, Department for Energy Security and Net Zero

Alex is a programme manager leading Department for Energy Security and Net Zero’s £16.5m Electrification of Heat programme. At BEIS he works in the Science and Innovation for Climate and Energy (SICE) directorate within the Built Innovation team. His career to date has seen him work with low carbon heating solutions for the built environment. He has managed large scale programmes encompassing hydrogen, heat networks and in recent years heat pumps for domestic buildings. Prior to working at BEIS he worked for the Greater London Authority for nearly 7 years managing programmes to support the delivery of the Mayor of London’s climate change targets. He is a professional member of the Energy Institute and Chartered Environmentalist.
