Specifying Low Carbon Concrete – curated by MPA The Concrete Centre

The standard for concrete, BS 8500, is about to be revised and this update will considerably increase the range of low carbon concrete available for all concrete applications. Gareth will provide guidance on how to specify low carbon concrete, including the use of multi-components cements using limestone.

Research, development and innovation into new low carbon cements and concretes is also prevalent. Noushin will discuss recovered fly ash, calcined clays, optimisation of binder content, performance specification and the BSi Flex standard project as well as an overview of other binder technologies.

For the Q&A Gareth and Noushin will be joined by Jenny Burridge, Director, Structural Design at The Concrete Centre who brings expertise in material efficient design to the panel.
