Announced on Wednesday 8 November, the awards champion the link between economic success and environmental sustainability. Sunamp’s thermal storage solutions won the ‘Product’ Scotland category. Our commitment to building phase change material heat battery for a sustainable future is recognised.
Sunamp designs and manufactures compact heat batteries containing Plentigrade, its patented high performance phase change material. Our innovative technology has resulted in a uniquely successful formula which is transforming how we use energy and provide heat around the world. The thermal batteries work with almost any energy source to help deliver highly effective low-carbon heating and cooling in buildings. Sunamp’s Thermino range can store energy from renewable sources to deliver hot water in heat batteries that are more than four times smaller than equivalent hot water cylinders.
Sunamp CEO Andrew Bissell said:
“Winning the VIBES Product Scotland award recognises the hard work which has gone into developing our innovative thermal storage solutions, over many years.
‘We achieved the breakthrough behind our game-changing phase change materials in the early 2010s and brought our heat battery products to market in 2018. Over 25,000 units have been delivered so far, helping decarbonise hot water in homes and businesses.”
Since 1999, VIBES has recognised hundreds of Scottish businesses driving positive and radical environmental action. More than 40 businesses were shortlisted this year and winners were selected following a robust judging process.
