The UK’s largest manufacturer of lightweight roofing materials, Britmet Lightweight Roofing, is proud to announce a huge £800,000 investment in production and warehouse facilities.
Over the last 3 years, Britmet has seen an average annual growth in turnover of 42.3%, which was made possible by making targeted investments including rapidly upscaling the team and adopting new systems and processes after an increase in demand during the COVID-19 lockdowns. Britmet has increased production over the last 2 years from 500,000 sqm to 950,000 sqm to supply demand from product sectors including Local Authorities, Housing Associations, MOD, NHS, Modular Housing, Park and Leisure Homes, conservatory manufacturers, and home improvements.
2022 has seen a huge £800,000 investment into Britmet’s production and warehouse facility in Tipton, West Midlands. In September 2022, a new storage system from Rackit will be installed doubling the capacity to over 1200 pallet spaces. Britmet will also upgrade its production facility in early 2023 to reduce curing times and increase capacity to 2 million sqm of roofing materials.
Sales and Marketing Director, Chris Powell, says, “Looking ahead to 2023, Britmet Lightweight Roofing plans to build upon the success of 2022 and continue its outstanding pattern of growth, I believe that a successful business must have a great team of passionate and dedicated staff to achieve the highest standards of service, quality and value; this is the foundation we are built upon.”
He continues, “With the constant expansion of our team with experienced professionals, further improvements to the production and warehouse facilities and the dedication to support the construction industry, I believe that as consumer behaviour shifts further online, Britmet has capitalised on this by supporting our distributors and driving customers to our website which features an interactive stockist map boasting over 130 locations to purchase our products.”
