“We can no longer let the people in power decide what hope is. Hope is not passive. Hope is not blah blah blah. Hope is telling the truth. Hope is taking action” – Greta Thunberg
Join the Architects Climate Action Network (ACAN) for a day of sharing your expertise, taking action together and expanding our collective networks. The three themes we explore are the three manifesto aims of ACAN: Decarbonise Now, Ecological Regeneration, and Cultural Transformation.
Through short presentations we will ask questions of the industry, challenge current approaches, and examine our role in climate breakdown. You are then invited to take part in activities and structured conversations to build hope together. Join us for 40 minutes or all day long, find out what an ACAN meeting is like, and meet new collaborators as we fundamentally interrogate our role in the built environment.
To start the day, we will be introducing ACAN: its manifesto, group structure, and current aims and strategies.
Hope is created collectively. Hope is something we do rather than have. Hope requires maintenance to form intentional healing – a meaningful and satisfying response to the challenges we face.
