Sally Fenton, Co-head of the Built Innovation team – Science and Innovation for Climate and Energy Directorate (SICE), Department for Energy Security and Net Zero
Sally is the co-head of the Built Innovation team in the Science and Innovation for Climate and Energy Directorate (SICE) within the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy. The Built Innovation team delivers programmes to accelerate the commercialisation of low-carbon technologies and to support decarbonising our homes and buildings. Sally is responsible for key innovation programmes including Whole House Retrofit, Electrification of Heat, Heat Pump Ready, and the Green Home Finance Accelerator.
Before working on energy innovation, Sally held a number of technical and policy posts in central government in the UK working on policy areas including: science in government; nuclear decommissioning; telecommunications regulation and road safety policy. Sally’s professional background is in radiocommunications engineering.
