Caroline Cattini-Dow, CIBSE Retrofit in Heritage Committee, Principal Engineer & Building Services Engineering Team Leader,  Historic England
Caroline Cattini-Dow is the Principle Building Services Engineer and Team Leader in the National Specialist Services Department at Historic England. Caroline has worked in building services engineering for over 30 years working in contracting and consultancy before joining Historic England’s predecessor English Heritage in 2003. Her role at Historic England includes statutory advisory work, research, producing technical guidance and the management of the Building Services Engineering Team. The team’s current work involves studies on the impact of peak summertime temperatures on historic buildings and viable methods of low-carbon heating for historic buildings. Caroline is actively involved with the Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE) as a professional interviewer, a committee member on the Membership and Registration Panel as well as the co-chair of the Retrofit in Heritage Committee which launched in 2022.
