Professor Will Swan, Leader, Energy House Labs, University of Salford
Professor Will Swan leads the Energy and Buildings Research for the University of Salford, where he established the group in 2012. He oversees a team of 18 people and 3 laboratories exploring issues of building performance, digital energy services and decarbonisation. He sits on a number of national and regional groups focused on the delivery of low-carbon built environment and building performance, with a specific focus on retrofit. His recent projects include the development of Energy House 2.0, a £16m research facility. He led the development of the Retrofit Accelerator, Greater Manchester’s strategic framework for the decarbonisation of existing buildings. He is the author of a number of journal papers related to buildings and energy, as well as one of the editors of Retrofitting the Built Environment published by Wiley.
