Platform design for manufacture and assembly (P-DfMA) is fast becoming the most talked about approach when it comes to modern methods of construction (MMC). However this Platform approach to construction requires a shift in thinking from a construction mindset to a manufacturing first mind-set. Which is easier said than done. But, once we change focus it becomes very apparent there are significant savings to be made in delivery through greater flexibility, being more responsive, cutting costs and ultimately reducing construction time onsite. All of these benefits will be discussed in more detail during this session, plus how to adopt this P-DfMA approach and how to do it quickly.
