Pippa Palmer, LSBU and the LSBU/BSRIA Net Zero Building Centre

Pippa Palmer, Research Strategist, LSBU and the LSBU/BSRIA Net Zero Building Centre
Pippa Palmer is Curator of LSBU’s Climate Emergency Series and Research Strategist at LSBU. Her specialism is systems change in the built environment, particularly the challenges around renewable energy and energy market transformation. Pippa’s experience stems from a lengthy commercial career, delivering go-to-market strategies and behavioural insights for blue chip retail, utility and sustainability brands, including The Carbon Trust, Zero Carbon Hub and the UKGBC. Pippa also acted as MD and advisor to the charity SolarAid, building fair markets for clean solar lights in sub-Saharan Africa.
An ‘accidental academic’, Pippa’s research now focuses on the intersection of the behavioural, markets and engineering challenges of the net zero transition – particularly retrofit. Pippa hosts a Retrofit Skills Group, and recent research includes Market Development and Channel Strategy in Retrofit, Retrofit Skills for Lambeth Borough Council, and developing tools for Social Housing Landlords to communicate and build trust with residents during retrofit programmes.
