Whilst significant progress has been made in defining what ‘net zero’ means for the country’s buildings, the UK Net Zero Carbon Buildings Standard will take the next step and enable industry to robustly prove their built assets are net zero carbon and in line with our nation’s climate targets. The Standard’s development is being led by industry organisations BBP, BRE, the Carbon Trust, CIBSE, IStructE, LETI, RIBA, RICS, and UKGBC, with the help of nearly 300 volunteers from across the industry.
This session will reflect on the tremendous effort that the team has gone to in order to gather data for the standard and create models of “the art of the possible” to inform the targets and limits being set for future years.
Speakers:
Clara Bagenal George, LETI
Julie Godefroy, Head of Net Zero Policy, CIBSE
Katie Clemence Jackson, Technical Project Managers, NZCBS
