This session seeks to demonstrate the impact on sustainability achieved by using an open protocol to create intelligent building systems that can be endlessly adapted and updated without a complete redesign – ever. The sheer variety and adaptability of using an open protocol can easily create buildings in which the heating, lighting, cooling, shading and ventilation (and much more) can all be controlled for optimum performance and comfort and can be swapped out adapted and updated as the needs of the occupants change and as new technology is developed.
