Easyfairs, the leading international events company behind Futurebuild, has published its first ever annual sustainability report, showcasing a commitment to a greener future. The milestone report highlights Easyfairs’ substantial progress in reducing its carbon footprint and underscores its dedication to sustainability, an ethos that aligns seamlessly with Futurebuild’s mission.

Since 2019, Easyfairs has successfully cut its carbon footprint by a third. This remarkable achievement has been driven by targeted initiatives across five key areas: emissions reduction, energy efficiency, travel and accommodation, elimination of waste, and the provision of more sustainable food and beverage options.

Futurebuild, the built environment’s most impactful event, mirrors Easyfairs’ values through its own comprehensive sustainability initiatives. Futurebuild ‘walks the talk’ by ensuring all event signage including wall banners and graphics, are entirely recyclable. Futurebuild also kicked off its first Sustainable Stand Awards in 2024, as well as promoting sustainable food and drink options, and reducing paper usage through the implementation of smart badge software.

Furthermore, Futurebuild has made impressive cuts to its waste, including removing 9000sqm of aisle carpet at the event, its biggest waste stream. It will continue to eliminate waste by using REWIND carpet, a Cradle to Cradle Certified® Silver product, for feature areas and shell-schemes.

In addition to these ongoing efforts, Futurebuild 2025 will further its impact through a campaign that builds on its 20-year history of driving the sustainability agenda within the built environment. Committed to being a high impact, low impact event and achieving net-zero goals, sustainability is embedded in every aspect of the event from content delivery to product representation.

Across nine stages and an expansive exhibition floor, sustainability takes centre stage at Futurebuild. The event will showcase innovative solutions that contribute to a greener future, providing a platform for leaders in the industry to share their expertise and advancements in sustainability.

Futurebuild leads by example, implementing stringent measures and upholding its own sustainability credentials to ensure it remains the most sustainable event possible. By setting high standards and demonstrating best practices, Futurebuild continues to inspire and drive positive change within the industry.
