Evacuated Glass

Spacia via Pilks was the first evcauted glass with a u-value of 1.1 with only 6mm of glass. Game changer for sash windows, which we have used for secondary and primary sashes. Fineo is now here and had an even better u-value but is being made in Belgium rather than Japan. Expect more to follow and for window design to change. Goodbye to massive frames potentially making retrofit of windows that work with character as well as the energy performance targets. Listed buildings can have there energy consumption halved in many cases through this shift in tech.
